Noob slide question

My wife and I are looking at starter travel trailers and almost have it narrowed down but have a few issues to figure out. One thing I'd like to know for sure is can you walk on the slide when fully in? We looked at the 2020 Coachmen Spirit Coachmen 1943RB and LOVED it but with the slide in, you have to walk on the slide to get across and there is play. I stepped on it a bit while it was in there was maybe an inch of play. Will this cause issues with the slide? The other immediate question is single versus dual axle trailers, which hauls better but I know thats a question for the proper forum and not this one. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about stepping on the slide, I wouldn't jump up and down on it either....But I highly doubtful you'll damage it just walking on it. As for axles...It largely depends on the weight and length of the trailer

With the slide in, we have to walk on ours and then climb over the counter to get to the fridge. Been doing this for a couple of years. No slide issues.

I was advised by the Sabre rep to not walk on our flush floor slides when they were retracted as the floor isnít supported until theyíre fully deployed.

So thatís what I do. I can usually out the slide out just 1í and still be well within my parking spot.

i walk on our slide when its in, but i dont put my full weight on it.

i prefer a camper with 2 axles just in case of a blow out and more stability.
