Question on cable slideout

Has anyone had a cable break, with slide in the out position? Can it be physically pushed back in and then locked in place? I wanted to be prepared in case this ever happens. I know it can be manually put back in with motor attachment if motor fails...

slide cable

I had a cable come out of the retaining block. The nut fell off. I had noticed a gouge in the floor because the one corner dropped after it came in. Fortunatly it moved in and out, just had to support the corner so it wouldn't damage the floor anymore. With the slide out I was able to open the panal for the motor and reattatch the cable. So in answer, yes it will move, just be careful what it rides on or damage.
