Second Slide Switch

Looking to buy a Rockwood 2012WS and from my understanding when the main slider is closed access to the rear is cut off. While there is a rear door I won't have access to it when parked as it will be blocked by the house. So thoughts on installing a second switch in the bedroom to open and close the main slider. Is it possible? How hard would it be?

Thanks all.

I know there were instructions here on FRF by TURBS for adding a remote control to the awning. I assume the concept is the same for a slide switch.

However, will you be able to see all parts of the slide from the bedroom and make sure it isn’t bound up/breaking something as it goes out?

All you need to do if you want a manual switch over a remote setup, is parallel the wires to the new switch with the existing switch wiring and you can place the switch wherever you want to. There is a caveat though. Make absolutely sure you never operate both switches in opposite directions at the same time. Of course that also goes for the remote unit as well.

This is what I was thinking, wire a second switch off of the current switch but wasn't sure this was a wise choice. Just me and the DW so not worried about us both trying to run the slide at the same time Biggest issue for me routing the wires through the camper to the second switch.
The idea of wiring in a remote doesn't appeal to me, so time will tell as I am ordering the camper this Saturday.

I believe I have come up with a solution, found this product in Trailer Life(?) magazine, just a short quick blurb.

https://www.rv-intelligence.com/smartrvcontrols/

They have three different solutions but short of it is allows app on the phone to operate slide, among many other options you can opt to run remotely. Of course all it takes is money. I am going to go with the integrated switch\remote option.
