Slide covers

My wife insist I am too old to be climbing up a ladder to check the top of our slides before moving them in.

I was wondering if some of you that have, or had, slide covers could report any pros or cons about them. I have 3 slides and they cost about $1,000.00 installed each.

They're absolutely great. I installed one on our trailer 4-5 weeks ago. We've taken it out twice and both times were wet and wooded. I can't imagine not having the slide topper in those conditions. The only detail to remember (IMO) is to power the slide inward about halfway to allow the rain water and debris to fall off...and don't have the windows open or even cracked.

I concur with Ballistic. They are great and give me comfort in the rain and the fact I don't need to brush the top of the slide off before bringing it in. Easy to install but depending on the length of the slide around $1,000 installed seems pretty reasonable.

Slide toppers

We have them on both of our slides and love them. Just don't be watching the slides come in after a rain or you can get a cold shower. Ask me how I know

Could NOT use them where we go most of the time. Windy in the So Cal desert and they'd flap like crazy

We have sustained 25mph winds where we live and they don’t flap out of control one bit. The awning on the other hand would destroy itself at those wind speeds.

We had them installed from the factory when we ordered our rig, they are worth every cent.

Slide toppers are great. As far as wind, we just had 50mph gusts during a storm with the slide out and there is no damage to the tops at all.
