Slide locks

how important is it to use the slide locks on my 2009 rockwood 8313ss when traveling down the road?

it's a personal thing, just like traveling with the propane on.

some do and some don't.
i don't for short trips. but for long trips or if i'm traveling through mountains, i do.

they're just an insurance policy in case the slide system fails somehow.

My slide came out while leaving a camp ground. Thankfully my speed was minimal and nothing was damaged. The reason the slide came out was twofold, 1. I didn't have the slide lock in place and, 2. The bolts on the slide motor came loose allowing the gears to dis-engage. Needless to say, I am a slide lock advocate.
