Slide lubricants and bearing grease

Our 2504S just came in a couple months ago, and I can't wait to go out in it! I was wondering if anyone had an recommendations for a good slide lubricant (and good bearing grease). I haven't a clue re: what works and doesn't.

Thanks!

A very-good-quality wheel bearing grease that's commonly available at most parts houses is Mobil 1 synthetic grease. It's red, and comes in grease-gun cartridges.

I have no recommendation for the slide. Others will.

Use a silicon spray lube that will not attract debris to the gears and rails for the slides. You will also want to spray with a seal conditioner for the seals on the slides. I do this twice a year once in the spring and once in the fall.

For wheel bearing grease I use NAPA brand grease for wheel bearings. This is in a tub for easy application. I also used this on my king pin around the hitch jaws.

I use WD-40 Dry Lube with PTFE on the slide rails and 303 Protectant on the seals.

First read or download manual for your RV. Never use any "wet" silicon or WD40 or anything that dust will stick to for rack and pinion or Schwintek. "Dry Silicon", as long as it is truly dry, best check, spray a little on paper, no spot all else fails /slippery go to go. When all else fails read the manual.

If it's a schwinteck slide Lippert is very specific about the lubricant to use and where to apply it. There are videos on YouTube that show how to do it?

I have read on the forum that you shouldn't use anything on the slides. Needless to say I'm confused between this thread and the one that says not to use any.

Since our TT is new (2017) should we do the slides and seals?

Here you go. Check out this video on YouTube.

On your seals if you intend to leave your slide out for extended period of time you should treat your seals at the minimum of once a month. Otherwise every other month. The sun will dry them out over time and you may stat to have leaks.

My slides are of the rack and pinion variety and not the Schwintek style shown in above photos and I as others have indicated use a dry lube with PTFE so not to attract dirt and grit. I also sprayed the telescoping tubes and rails underneath the slides.
303 protectorant on the slide seals all around. If you have the slide toppers on your slideouts, that top seal will require some ingenuity on your part.
I pulled the wheels, cleaned, inspected and greased the bearings and installed new seals this past weekend. I used a tube of Mystic JT-6 high temp grease which was one of the approximately 15, NGLI #2 greases listed on the Dexter Axle website's service manual. The manual made for some interesting reading and I would recommend it for reference in case your TT didn't come with one

For the 303 Aerospace Protectant, there is another number to identify the product. Is it the 30308?
