before you decide the motor is dead check the wiring. Some DC motors use green as ground and blue and black for direction control. It would be worth trying.

Thanks

How did you decide which color does what? did you pull the switch on the wall? You can take your multimeter and test the disconnected wires coming from the switch to the motor at the motor using someone else operating the switch and see if you are getting power.

Seadog- it tells you on one wire is in and other out. I just don't know how to jump it to see if motor bad. Your supposed to be able attach wires to battery somehow to see if motor runs

Hook black to negative on battery and touch the green or blue to the positive and see if it moves.

I suppose you could put a fuse holder in-line with your test leads as that might prevent any permanent damage.

With the power removed have you tried to manually move the slide to make sure it not binding. If the slide moves fine I think I would remove the motor and then test it with a battery.

I'm a little confused your slide is hydraulic? I thought you were talking about an electric slide. NO matter you can bench test a DC motor by taking the motor leads and placing the lead (for open or closed) on the positive side of a battery and the ground connection on the negative side and the motor should run or not.
