Slide out 2400W will only work when generator running

I have a Sunseeker 2400W and are very happy with it. This weekend was getting ready to leave for a trip. As part of preparation checked the slide out.
The only way that I could get it to operate was with the generator running.
It would not function when just connected to shore power or with the engine running. Can it be some sore of relay issue, any ideas. The parking break is applied.

Don't know how old your rig is, or what condition your coach battery/s are in, but check the coach batteries.
Slides run off 12 volt, and if your battery is bad, may not operate even when plugged into shore power.
When your genny is running it's supplying power to charge the battery, so that may be why it works when genny is running.
If the slide operates when on genny power, then your circuit breaker/relay is fine.
My bet is a problem with your coach battery/s.

Sounds like deeply discharged batteries then converter fuse blew due to the high amp draw trying to charge them. The fuse is on the converter itself. That would explain the shore power not working. Generator may have a direct 12 volt charge line. Coach engine triggers a lock out of slides for safety, they won't go if engine on. This post will get more attention on the MBS forums. Better in this case to repost your situation there. ( true for most questions or problems for your 2400w)

I was having problems with my slide. Sometimes it would go out just fine, other times, not at all. Same condition on retracting the slide.

Dealer's service department could find nothing wrong, they tested the batteries, charging circuit, etc.

Then, I took it over to an RV service facility that is rated as one of the best in the West. They tested everything and found that my problem was due to a bad electrical connection between the wiring and the slide's motor. Then they repaired the connection and all is now well with the slide.

Let the forum know what you find and how you fixed it

Battery Switch

I have to admit I don't know where the battery switch is and have never touched it. When not using the RV I disconnect the chases battery using the switch by the accelerator switch, not immediately but certainly within a few days. I plug into shore power always. I have 4 red lights on the battery level indicator on the control center.
