Slide out motor lubrication

My 2019 Georgetown 36B5 main slide out squeeks loudly on final 2” when retracting. The noise is coming from where the motor engages on the tooth strip. I sprayed silicone spray on it and it is much better. Is there a more lasting lube I can use such as a light grease? It was bone dry while it was squeaking
Thanks for any comments.

I use this. It is a dry lube that does not allow sand and dirt stick to it. I’m sure you can find something cheaper but I have been using this for over 10 years and have had no slide issues.

My bedroom slide was loud like your and I had to get under the bed to live. No issues since..

I’m assuming your slide is hydraulic? Just be careful when using this on the tooth strip close to the hydraulic ram. If you get any on it, wipe it off. I lube my hydraulic rams with silicon spray. Not WD-40. Silicon will not damage the rubber seals on the hydraulic pistons.

There are 4 electric motors on each slider-I guess. Don’t see any hydraulics

Schwintec slide.. I thought you were talking about the rack and pinion gears on the bottom of the slide? I’m not sure if the dry lube is the right stuff for the Schwintec slides?

I looked up this slide and it’s not like mine. I’ll send a pic tomorrow of the hard plastic/composite teeth that engage with the motors

Ok, that looks like what I have. I don’t think mine is hard plastic but made of steel. Anyway, that dry lube will work on that. Spray the teeth and the sides. Spray into the opening where the teeth ride on a pinion gear that has grooves the teeth ride in.

How do your slide move in and out? You say not hydraulic and nor Schwintec.t

I can’t see anything except the drive pinion gear. Guess it could be hydraulic but I assumed the motors were electric. Anyway-glad the dry lube will work.
Thanks for your help!

Look on the sides of your slide. Do you see a strip with a worm gear type design. That would be a Schwintec slide control.

It could be something completely different with motor that drive the rack and pinion in and out.

A hydraulic control would be a ram underneath the slide to push it out and to retract it. You would hear the hydraulic pump motor running.

Glad the dry lube will work for you. Do t be shy about spraying it on. Leave the slide out a while to give it time to dry.

I believe you have only 1 motor per side, on top, with a long shaft going down to drive the lower gear.

Ran it in and the hydraulic pump in the compartment did not activate.
Remember an RV shop tell me to either be hooked up to shore power or have the generator running when I move the slides. Makes sense now!
Anyway-thanks for the tip!
