Slide out scratching floor

I recently ended up with an older FR Cardinal and I'm totally new to the game. The trailer is in good shape for its age but my wife does not like the flooring or carpet color. SO, it's replacement time. I've noticed that the kitchen/living area slide out scratches the flooring on one side. Is this a roller issue or adjustment issue? Can't see putting in a new floor if it's going to get scratched. Advise!!!!

Before deciding on anything…..check carefully while the slide out is travelling both incoming and outgoing. This is a two person job, so one works the slide button. While laying on the floor in line with each roller, look carefully to see if the rollers roll or jam while travelling. It doesn’t take much sand, gravel or dirt to jam the rollers from turning. We make sure to sweep constantly to minimize/eliminate dirt under the slide.

I had some leftover vinyl plank flooring, so I made some floor protectors with it. I put 4 under each slide, spaced evenly. The LVP is pretty thin, so it works well.

Where do I look to watch the rollers? The carpet on the slide out lip appears to be fastened down fairly well. Peeling the carpet back did not seem to be an option. There appears to be no way to watch the roller from the outside. I guess I am still lost yet.

On mine, you can’t see any rollers from the inside. The wood slide floor rides up over a hard white plastic piece on the camper floor that is as long as the slide. As the slide starts in, it’s tilting up, but as it continues in, the front tilts down and hits the floor for a few inches, then lifts up again. That’s where any scratches would come from. When it’s going out, it does the same thing, in reverse order.

By putting the lvp pieces under it, the wood hits them instead of the floor.
