Slide out smooth out, binding in.

2016 Wildcat 28SGX with Lippert frame.

Dining slide is the type that uses two rack and pinion gear sets on the extending arms coupled together to keep the slide out mech square as it extends and retract. Actual motive force is provided by either a lead or ball screw mechanism driven by a 12 vdc gear/motor assembly.

Extending out the system is smooth for the entire travel.
Upon retraction it bucks but can't tell if it is motor issue such a burned contacts on reversing relay or binding. It is just that it is so smooth extending I would not suspect binding.

We got it in by hitting the in switch while a buddy and I pushed the slide in. It still bucked like crazy.

Suggestions please.

Thanks for the reply. I actually sent an email to Ms. Hankins last night. I have some more information to share and will send her a second post. She (and FR) have been helpful in the past with questions I have had.

Regards,

I have a 2012 forest river Sierra with a 4 slide system. The long slide which encompasses the refrigerator stove and sink pops and bucks going out and I brought it in and tried to bring it back out and I did the same thing. So I went around outside to look at it and the cross race that connects the two cylinders to the slide so it will come out evenly was bent. I have taken it off and it is now Street but is there anything I need to be looking at other than that cross brace?

I had a slide that was making noise when I brought it in. It was actually that I had the door closed and the air escaping was pushing the seal to the outside against the slide sides coming in. I just keep the door open now when moving the slides.
