Slide Topper Cord

On the topper over the couch/stove slide out on my 2017 Forester 2861DS a couple feet of the anchoring cord had become exposed. Sort of worked its way out. It’s toward the front end and there’s still some 8 feet of cord anchoring the awning so it still feels stable but I’d like to fix this. Thoughts anybody?

My advice, get it fixed. You may be able to fix the "Gimp" on your own, but it is not as easy as the videos look and some say. That spring is under crazy tension.

With that said, dont risk it because when you least expect it, your awning fabric will come apart from the roller
