Slide topper length

I'm thinking of adding slide toppers. Here is my question. I know to measure from outer edge of flange to outer edge of the other side. That measures 147 1/2" My problem is, there is only 1 1/4" gap between the flange and the arm/leg of my awning. What length topper do I need to cover roof? And not have the bracket go beyond the flange to far to hit the awning. Most campers I have seen. The topper bracket goes a lot farther then 1 1/4" beyond the flange, with the fabric roller long enough to cover the roof. Is it possible to put a topper on this slide? if so is there a trick or a differant option on mounting the bracket so it does fit between?
