This was a fun one (NOT). After about 300 miles in one day my wife rounded the corner onto our street, very happy to be back home. Once I got her backed into the driveway she wanted to slide out the bedroom and get things unloaded ASAP.
I told her to hang on and I would check outside and make sure the slide was clear. Thats when I noticed the awning all bunched up and the tube out of its mounting. It was hanging on by one end. It was UGLY. It appears the threads in the housing (where the bolts go in on the left side of the awning tube) stripped, the bolts pulled out and that end fell out of its housing. The tube then unrolled in the wind but somehow remained on the motorhome and connected to the right end. The awning also ripped at one of the retaining bolts in the track.
Once I was able to hold up the awning and have her slid out the room, I was able to see the damage and discovered the other end also had one stripped thread in its housing. JUST GREAT. We have another big trip planned in about 10 days and have to deal with this. Not a great day.
