Look up the manual for your particular awning for specifics. The manufacturer website should have them or at least a number to customer service.
They are just like regular awnings, you need to know how to disassemble w/o hurting yourself (lock tension mechanism), then retension to specifications. Too much and the mountings tend to pull out, not enough and they will not function correctly.
Or do like I did, and just remove the PITA contraptions
