Sunseeker 3170DS Slide Questions

A couple of days ago I posted a thread regarding the slide locking open, unfortunately I'm sure it was a very broad question and could have many reasons for the cause, and didn't generate any replies.

So, now the RV has been moved inside the dealer's garage, where it has warmed up. Can anyone tell me where the motors are located on the Bunk/Bedroom Wardrobe slide? If we activate the switch to bring the slide in, only the far left bunk side moves, very slightly, inches. The far right (wardrobe) doesn't move at all. It appears that the slides are fully extended.

Is there any step by step process to identify and attempt to free up a frozen locked up slide?

Hoping to be on the road in a week, may have to cancel some reservations if we can't get this resolved quickly enough.
Thanks for any help.

We can imagine your dilemma. We don't have your floor plan, so can't answer your question; however, you may want to contact Joshua Cavitt who is in the Class C division at Forest River. All the employees at Forest River have their email with the initial of their first name followed by their last name @forestriverinc.com. Provided we have his last name spelled correctly, his e-mail would be jcavitt@forestriverinc.com
Sure hope this helps!

Exchanged emails with Josh Cavitt today, FR offered support to help resolve the problem. Our storage dealer was able to resolve the issue, so we're back on schedule. Appreciate FR standing by in case we needed them. Blood pressure back to normal. ;-) Thanks for the help and guidance.

Slide Motors

One on each end of the slide at the top. About 1.5 inches in diameter and 5 or so inches long.
There is an override in the bay underneath where the water pump is located. It is an electronic override. WE had to get on line to get the instrustions. That was last summer and I dont remember where we found them. I think it is Lippert system

The dealer had to call Lippert twice on troubleshooting the slide. Just left there seems ok, fully extends and retracts. If you can remember where those instructions are that would be great. Thanks again.

Do a search for "Slide" threads, I am not alone. A bit scary, needless to say, slide isn't going to be opened untill we hit our Florida park!

While i an very glad it all worked out, my question is why did you not contact FR or Lippert before looking here, if you are on the road and run into an issue you might run around in circles if you can not explain of show the people here (me included) what might be wrong?

I understand some folks seem to thing the companies will give you a run around (and they might) but more times then not they are there to helps all of out and keep rving.

Hope this helps and Happy camping

I did all that, the Coach was sitting at an outside storage lot with temps now in the 20's. My ability to personally troubleshoot the problem is limited, as I a newbie and still learning what makes these things tick. The storage dealer agreed to bring the Coach inside, warm it up and look for a solution to the problem. Concurrently, as noted in this thread I was on line with Josh from FR and established assistance from FR' s tech support should my local repair dealer require it. He did contact Lippart and got the needed assistance. If he ran into a roadblock, I was prepared (once the slide was in) to drive 100 miles to my purchase dealer, who has unlimited resouces. I have warranty insurance, so my loss hopefully would have consisted of a few days of rescheduling.
