Through frame gear pack adjustment

Hi All,

Long story short, slide got stuck and skipped 3+ teeth on motor side. I fixed the getting stuck issue but now need to straighten it out.
Lippert says disengage gear and push slide in to realign. Easy enough but I have a couple of questions.

The picture below is my gear pack.
Do I extend slide half way?
Do I need to lift it some to get weight off gear? If so where do I lift it??
If so, do I let it down when gear is disengaged so I can move the slide?
Do I need to remove the bar the arrow is pointing at or will it loosen when I loosen gear?

NOTE: This is NOT an in wall schwintek!

Thanks!!

Question....has anybody here removed the gear pack on a through frame slide out? I lifted inner rail some, rollers on gear pack are loose but gear itself is still super tight, is this right? I need to make an adjustment so just need to loosen gear pack, take one bolt out to pivot gear pack down i.e. disengaging the gear. I'm just worried how tight it is, if I pop it out (not even sure I can) will i get it back in? Thx!

Hello? Anybody??

The gear drive has a shaft bolted to each gear to keep them in sync. I jacked up under the track to remove the gear I had stripped. Jack it up and maybe use ratchet straps to help pull it back straight. Stormy

I've replaced both gear clusters on my slide.

With it extended enough for working room I placed a jack under the outer end if the rail and lifted about an inch. Gear cluster is easily removed.

Good time to lube bushing bearings in cluster with a drying type silicone lube. 3-In-One Slide Lube works great for me.

When I replaced the gear assembly on one side I removed some of the
Underbelly for easy access. The gear has a drive shaft to the other gear. They
Have no power but keep the slide coming in straight. The power is from
Either Hydraulic or electric ram.

So thought I would give an update......
Finally got my slide all "straightened" out! I eventually lifted both inner rails and was able to disengage the gear pack. I could not push the slide in though so got an RV guy to come help. Long story short.....some of the adjusting bolts were loose, so over time, each time I put the slide in and out it was moving out of adjustment a little bit at a time until finally.....way out!

Needless to say, I consider myself now VERY knowledgeable on through frame slides!! So if any of you need help with one let me know.
