To lube or not to lube that is the question
I see people saying ... YES .... lubricate the slide gears (and rails).
I have a Micro Lite 25BRDS. I saw ProtectAll and the product is called Slide-Out Dry Lube. I've seen many posts saying NOT to lubricate, but its a moving part. I was told to oil my bike chain as a kid why would I not a slide out?
Should I lube or not lube?

Dry lube if you like! Now in regards to the Bike Chain, any self respecting Kid,would Turn the Handel bars Upside down, remove the Chaingard, lube the Chain, and "Ruin Your Right side Pants Cuff",and your Mom would Raise H--- with you,and your Dad would make you put the Chainguard back On! Youroo!!

Dry Lube. I sold a Rockwood with tons of grease on the gear so it was quiet! Let the buyer beware!
I also lube my bike chain with Oil.

CRC Power Lube, High Performance Lubricant w/PTFE for future lubes
When I was at the FROG rally, I had Lippert come and listen to my noisy slide. They lubed the gears, and told me to use CRC Power Lube, High Performance Lubricant w/PTFE for future lubes.

Use garage door lube.
https://www.amazon.com/Blaster-Chemi.../dp/B0002JM8G8
Its silicone based, designed to work in all weather conditions, won't build up, and it won't stain your clothes if you accidentally brush against it.

Also used by Amish Family RV, and I got some, and it works well. Amazon has it.

In all my years of working industrial maintenance (38) I was taught to never grease anything that was open to atmosphere. The reason is that the grease will catch any particulates in the air and contaminate the grease or worse yet cause the moving parts to wear more than without grease. Since dry lubes came onto the market, somewhere in the mid-60's I think, that has been the lubricant of choice of many machine makers. And I am guilty of removing my bikes chain guard and fenders and pouring a great amount of oil on the chain. There are now so many dry lube's on the market that it is hard to make a choice.

Does that also apply to my hitch to my 5th wheel, in which I was told to use grease?

Not the hitch plate, where the hitch goes and locks in the receiver.

You should grease inside the jaws. Clean the old grease off regularly and replace. It will also mean cleaning the king pin.

And don't forget the playing cards that you took out of your parents best deck to hold on with clothespins so they could hit the spokes when you were going down the road.

I started using a dry lube a few years ago
I spray it on twice a year, spring when getting it ready, and fall when getting it ready for winter.
Does it help or hurt, not sure. Doesnt leave a film or attract dust, drys white. Dont seem to have any problems with my slide outs

I use WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube.
It also has PTFE.
Recommended by the folks at Flagstaff.

Ok gotcha, then yes I lube/grease, I was told lithium grease into the zerk does the trick with a light coating on the jaws themselves.

I don't use grease on the ball for my TT for one specific reason: The grease is hard to get out of the skinned place on my shin after walking into the hitch
