I have an older Jayco that sits permanently on an acreage out in the country. It has a slide that is open year round and I found the seal between the slide and wall would leak if I didn't keep the leaves cleaned off METICULOUSLY every fall - as in every WEEK! I ended up building a permanent slide topper out of wood and corrugated plastic since the slide hasn't been closed in many years.

I doubt that the leaves are to blame...

Thinking about it, I would think that the leaves would actually help the seals by keeping them moist!

Just like tires...that rubber only lasts so long!

Easier to tighten them than removing. Really quite easy altho it is labor intensive.
