We have a Forest River Sierra 27RKSS with one slide out. We've never had any problems with it. Yesterday, after we got done winterizing, we activated the switch to bring in the slide, it sound normal for about 3 seconds, and then started clicking. WE tried a couple more times and the same thing.
My first thought would be electrical. We had this problem on our last trailer. I cleaned all of the connections, including the ones on the slide out pump itself, then everything worked again. I'm assuming that the batteries are charged? Jerry.
Thanks Jerry for the response. Today I manually brought the slide in and yes the battery is definitely dead. I assume I need a new battery or is there another reason why the battery didn't charge while the trailer was plugged in?
The battery could be bad if it did not charge while plugged in. Or it could be a blown fuse possibly. If you have a multi meter, next time you plug it in, check for voltage at the battery. It should read approximately 14 V while charging. Jerry.
