Wire Keeper Under Slide Out

On a recent trip we experienced a tire blow out (surprise) and I am trying to repair some minor damage. Under the passenger side slide out (2013 Flagstaff 5er 8528IKWS) there is a hard plastic piece that holds the wires up and allows them to move in and our with the slide opening and closing. The blown tire damaged this piece and I'd like to replace it if I can find out where to get it.

It has a manufacturer stamp on it "Quick Draw Products"

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

BTW - now replacing all tires with MAXXIS tires. The existing tires (Gladiators) were less than 3 years old, load range E, traveling slow (for interstate) at 63mph, and not over weight.

Thanks for the quick reply fonzie.....I think that is a similar part that serves the same purpose but not the exact one I have. Not sure if that would be a good replacement.

Another poster had the black plastic support strap break and he replaced it with some blue plastic conduit that he purchased from Lowes or Home depot. Install it the length of the wire and secure conduit to the underside of the slide with nylon zip ties. I am going to do the same with mine in the spring, as it appears that all of these straps tend to break...

I have had the same problem except that the outside hinged broke. All I did was to go to ace and bought a spring and attched to the end and hung it from the bottom of the unit, problem over. It's just CHEAP garbage....

If the guide is 3.25 inches wide, I have extra pieces. The are about 50 inches in length. Glad to get it to you for only shipping. Know that the box will not be small, I can only flex the guide so much. I am guessing I will need a box about 25 X 10 inches. One side should be molded to swivel on a post. I think I have a spare post as well. Let me know.

I had the same piece on an older Silver Back Bunkhouse a few years ago. My solution, since I had all the pieces, was to make some simple backing plates of aluminum sheet and pop rivet the whole contraption back together. This complicated solution was more from my frustration that the part broke in the first place than a reasoned approach to finding a solution (like buying a new part!).

The spring solution mentioned by another poster is one that works if you can locate the spring in such a way that it stays out of the way when closing the slide.

Good Luck!

Plastic strap is a poor design. I am now on my third strap. When the third strap broke, I installed a small door/gate hinge at the break. Haven't had any problems since.

I did the same, only mine broke at the fixed end 3 times. I put a hinge in as well but when attaching the hinge to the slide I only used the center hole allowing it to pivot. I discovered the problem was when the slide was closed the strap got twisted because both ends were at different heights causing the twist and putting stress on the fixed end at the top of the strap. The bundle now hangs down a tad when closed but I believe the stress point has been alleviated.

Update - I did order the replacement part (wrong one shipped originally). Then I got the correct part from Lippert and installed it today. Hopefully this will hold up but based on the previous posts I don't have a lot of confidence it will.

Thanks for the advice and offers :-)
