34RLSA Spare Tire

Just came back from a trip and while preparing to back in, I noticed the spare tire hanging / swinging under the trailer. I haven't crawled under there yet as we have had heavy rains, but is there something I should be looking for to get the tire stowed again? Up until now, I've never had to do anything with this tire.

Should be able to crank it back up using the crank handle you should have somewhere in your basement. It is extended or retracted by cranking the rod under the right slide. You will probably have to extend the slide or use a ratchet. The tire is hanging on a cable attached to the center of the tire rim, it is cranked up and down on a spool. It must have backed off some way.

Great call. Found the wrench and cranked it back into place! Thanks for your help.

Several of us that have the underbelly tire carriers add a ratchet strap around the tire and carrier frame. It adds peace of mind and prevents the winch from unwinding like yours did. A bouncing tire at 60 mph gets peoples attention on the road.
