38EL Electrical Issue

The LED lights in the bedroom closet, over the bed, in the basement, and in the docking station don't work. Fuse #5 in the breaker box has blown. When I replace fuse #5, it immediately blows. Any ideas what it could be?

Hot wire is going to ground. Hot wire is touching metal somewhere along the path.

Thanks for the input. I've tried to find the short but have been unsuccessful. I'm taking the CC to the dealer on June 12 to have them find the problem.

Are any of the lights you mentioned (like the ones over the bed) in a slide out?

Often times wires will get rubbed/pinched and short out due to being misrouted.
The flexing (during slide operation) eventually rubs it enough to compromise the wiring.

Anytime you have a dead short, look at the outlet boxes first. With the DC items in our campers, anyplace there is a wire crimp connection can be suspect. If a wire comes out of the crimp "hat" and touches the aluminum frame material or the ground wire you will be blowing fuses.

Look at the switch for the LED lights and the crimp connections at the fixture; then if they are all solid, the wire run to the fixture is pinched somewhere. Those can be a bear (and expensive in labor) to track down.

Thanks for everyone's help. I followed your advice and checked my wiring again. I especially paid attention to the slide and checked all the wiring under the bed. Checked all the wiring on light switches everything. Didn't really see anything but when I put everything back together, it's working. At least for now. Might not last long, but I'm happy right now. Thanks again for the encouragement.
