5th wheel hitch and brands?
Looking to install a hitch into a "New to us truck" , a 2013 GMC 3500 dully (8ft.box) and looking for some thoughts from the group?
Thanks,
LJ

My suggestion; B&W Turnover ball on the truck, and a Reese Goosebox on the fiver. No heavy hitches to be lifting in and out of the truck, the chucking goes away, and the truck bed is clear.
Even when towing, I now have more bedspace than before.

Have used this hitch since 2007. Been very happy. Feels like it is welded to the vehicle with this mounting system. Have pulled three different fifth wheels with no issues.

Congrats on the new truck LittleJohn. I have the Rees Pro 20K which seems to work fine form my CC. I only got this one because it came 'free' when I bought the 5er. Otherwise I would have been looking at the Andersen 5th wheel set up. That is much lighter to set up and can easily be removed from the bed of the truck when not required.

Curt Q20 ... sturdy and has a near fool proof color coded release arm arrangement. Some people have issues with the jaws not closing around the pin when hooking up. Spray WD40 or Lithium grease once a month on the jaws and springs inside the horseshoe plate and that issue will go away. There are OEM grease zerks as well.

We have a Curt Q20 in our 2013 Chevy dually. It works great for us. It does leave the rails on the truck bed when I take it out but that's not really an issue for me.

I've always used Reese kwik slide but I've also always used the short box Chevrolet. I've heard B&W also have really good hitches. So I guess it depends on the pocket book and how much you want to spend.
