A&E Electric awning will not come out
2013 - 36CKTS
A&E electric awning...
Awning is in the closed (up) position.
I have checked everything, (fuses, etc.).
Awning will not respond to switch or remote control.
When I press the switch or remote, all I hear is a clicking coming from the basement where all of the wiring and circuit boards are.
Any suggestions or safety tips on replacing the motor (if that is what it is) would be appreciated.
Thanks

Have you done any basic electrical tests with a multimeter?
You have to start with the basics and that is some simple tests with a DVOM. (digital volt ohm meter)
Replacing a more expensive motor for a bad connection, broken wire or faulty switch isn't a good practice to follow.

You don't need an expensive meter to test electrical connections. Harbor Freight has $5 meters. Any hardware store will have a less then $10 meter. Watch a youtube video on how to use it.
You cannot troubleshoot easily any electrical problem without a meter.
First things first...
get to the wire leads in the motor of the awning and see if they are getting 12 VDC
Often a bad connection is to blame somewhere in the wires going to the motor in the roller of the awning, often at a junction.
You should be able to unroll and set the awning by hand making it easier to troubleshoot, although it will take two people to do that.

I agree with testing with a meter. Is the clicking "rapid fire" or only single clicks when you press our release a button?
If it's rapid fire, the voltage may be too low. The relays click on and the load from the motor drops the voltage further turning them off again. This repeats in succession. This causes a rapid fire sound from The relays.
Also there should be a separate fuse for the awning motor. I recommend replacing it with a self resetting breaker to save yourself huge headaches.

Bad connection between the relays/solenoids and the drive motor or another hidden fuse. The clicking makes it sound like everything before the relay/solenoid is working.

YUP... first thing to look for... bad connections on the wires to the motor from the trailer
