A/C Zones.

My 2017 cedar creek 38 el is equipped with 3 dometic a/c units. My control panel shows zone 1 and zone 2. Can someone tell me which units work with which zones, and shouldn't both zones be able to operate simultaneously. It seems like I can only run one or the other. Zone 1 is set to 72 but the inside temp is 79.

We have the 38DBRK but have the same system. Zone 1 is for the units in the living/kitchen area. zone 2 is for the unit in the bedroom. The load control, controls the load on system and determines which unit comes on.

Yes you should be able run both zones. Our 2017 38EL Zone 1 runs the rear most AC and the one above the refrigerator.

Zone 2 is the bedroom.

Is the mode for both AC units set to Cool?

Are you on a 30 amp service? If so, the power management system might be shutting down the compressor on one or more of the units.

Is the breaker for the unit by the refrigerator tripped? It's the one in the far right of the breaker panel.

Thanks very much for the inputs. We are on 50 Amp. Everthing seems to be working for now but I have a guy coming out this weekend just to take a look. Do yall keep your fans on auto or something else?

One other thing comes to mind. If you have both zones set to 72 and both zones are set to Mode=Cool and Fan=Auto, the bedroom temperature may be at 72 degrees or cooler and will only turn on once the temperature goes above 72.

I always set zone 1 to Mode=Cool, and Fan=Auto.
I always set zone 2 to Mode=Cool, and Fan=High at night because we like the fan noise to sleep. It helps to drown any noise outside the camper plus we can't sleep without fan noise.

What is the outside temperature when the inside Zone 1 temperature is 79 and set to 72?

Either 1 of the units in Zone 1 has an issue, is wired wrong, or the outside temperature is above 100 degrees and you are in full sun in a really dry climate.

Have you taken the lids off the outside units to make sure the fins are not clogged? Watch out, wasps love these areas.

Inside filters clean?

Curious to find out what you find out.

Good luck!
