A little overweight
I was always interested in weight threads prior to buying so I will post mine in hopes that it will help someones decision making. The nearest scales are 45 minutes away so unfortunately I didn't get an empty weight of the 2018 34RL2 and I wasn't about to unhitch and get a weight of my truck alone in this 95+ degree heat. So all loaded up for a weeks camping with just me and my wife I stopped at a CAT scale and got a front axle at 4920# (5200 max)and rear axle at 6740# (6780 max) trailer axles at 10340#(way under). This is a 2017 Ford F350 diesel crewcab 4x4 with a sticker max payload of 3416#. So I am just barely under rear axle max but at 11,660 over truck max of 11,500. This is right after fueling to a full tank of diesel, all holding tanks empty with water heater (10 gal) full and maybe a 5 gal charge in black tank. A few of my options that added pin weight are the second air conditioner, generator prep (no generator), and king bed. It will be pretty easy for me to eliminate 100 lbs of stuff from back of truck (tools and cooler) and maybe 50 or 60 lbs from 5er front compartment so it will be very close! I am using an Andersen Ultimate hitch. Hope this helps.

About the same as our CC 36CK2. We have a 2014 F350 CC SRW SB with a 50 gallon Titian tank and a Pullrite Superglide hitch. With me, the wife and a months worth of "stuff", we're at 11,800 lbs, or 300lbs above capacity. However, like yours, we are under capacity of the front and rear axles. Not much I can do about the total weight, as there's nothing but front storage on our RV, plus the washer dryer in the front bedroom doesn't help much. We completed a 6400 mile trip up from Dallas, through Rushmore, Glacier, Yellowstone, Tetons, UT, and CO with zero issues. Both truck and trailer did great.
Enjoy your rig.

Glad you all checking this and keeping on top of the weight. Not everyone does but they should be. How is the weight on the tires vs. the tire capacity? Most SRW trucks seem to be very close to or over these limits when pulling a 5er. Next time you are at a CAT scale move the rig so the highest point is under the cross beam and measure the distance to the cross beam and the distance from the cross beam to the ground (it says 16ft usually but is usually more) to determine the height of the rig. Some are close to or over the 13ft 6in limit for some bridges.

Max tire weight is actually a little higher than sticker max axle. The tires are rated 6830# whereas axle is 6780# so I don't know what is actually limiting the axle weight. Nice to know about the bar at the cat scales. I am not really comfortable being on the roof even though I have been up there once. That's a long way down! When I initially weighed I had everything loaded I would ever want, I have removed things that I would only occasionally want to take and should be under now. If I ever want those items I will put them at rear of 5er on floor between the slides and theoretically get a lighter pin weight than without them. We will see!

Hey this is very interesting. Im ordering a new truck this week and my wife and I want to buy a 34rl2. It says there is 2270 lbs on the pin. I’m ordering a Ram Diesel that has a 6.4 bed and the Cummins diesel with 11700 GVWR and it says the payload is 3940 lbs. I was thinking that I’d be around 3000 lbs on the rear with me, my wife, full tank of fuel, and 300 lbs for the slider, loaded with the Camper. So am I dreaming?
I was also thinking or adding the generator. Looks like the Ford is a little bit heavier than the Ram? Thoughts?

The 34rl2 is shorter than the 36ck2 so should weight less also. My Ford has a gross of 11500 and your truck has 11700, so you're better off there also. I added a 50 gallon tank so there's an additional 150lbs of fuel also. My guess is you'll be fine.

You might want to recalculate that additional 50 gallons of fuel - diesel comes in at 6.93lbs per gallon so you’re talking about 350# rather than 150.....

He got an oversize replacement tank. The 150 he's talking is over stock fuel capacity.

That is correct. I replaced the 26 gallon with a 50 gallon, so I was only talking about the weight of the additional 24 gallons.

The ultimate limiting factor is the GVWR. You're overweight.
Excess GAWR certifications are load capacity reserves. When you start exceeding your GAWRs you're relying on any load capacity reserves you may have with your tires.
