Amish Family RV Repair
Can't locate the phone number for Amish Family RV Repair (Orvin) in Indiana anyone know what it is. Looking to get another new roof on my 2011 Cedar Creek Touring Edition.
Had it replaced here in PA six months later was leaking and roof is a mess nee it replaced right may just drive out to Indiana again depending on what I can find out from Orvin.

Seems like everyone that has used them loved their work and service can you stay there onsite in your RV?

It is possible, but best to check with Orvan, seeing he is currently having a zoning issue he might want to avoid adding any excuse the county can use against him. We usually stay in the Shipshewana Flea Market campground then just arrive early to his shop, there are plenty of good choices for overnight stays in a hotel/motel nearby if needed

Thanks I know Monday is a holiday no rush to get this done the entire ROOF thing has been a nightmare for us. Been over a year of leaking issues then another new AC and new roof. When I picked up the RV we headed from PA to south Texas for a few winter months. As soon as we arrived in Texas I noticed BIG bubbles in the front on both sides where the roof material goes under the rain spouting.
After getting back to PA the rear AC started to leak again looks like the water is coming from the rear side window but runs across the ceiling then down the inside the paneling and comes out around the window molding.
I never was told they could not get any EPDM or TPO roof material so when I picked it up they said they put Vinyl roofing on it. Also the business was sold January 1, 2022 so the new owner said he has nothing to do with my job.
I contacted the old owner after some go around he said he would give me my money back I excepted that I hate legal process.
Long story short after they removed the rear AC again sealed that opening up on the roof top and sealed the left side rain spouting I believe the water leak has finally stopped. Will not know for sure to I get back to the RV at our seasonal site.
I was working with the same guys that installed the new roof and still work for the new owner. But after thinking I believe it will be best to find a new place to once again put the new roof on.
Our 2011 Cedar Creek 36RE Touring Edition the factory roof material stopped at the edges of the top roof on both sides. There is then a medal piece between the roof edge and top of the rain spouting. The factory had molding running along the edge of the roof on each side sealing the crack between the roof material and medal piece. The rain gutter I assume then closed the other crack between the medal piece and side wall top.
We had two other new Cedar Creeks neither had the roof like that the roof material came down over the side to the top of the rain spouting or I should say under it.
When they installed the new Vinyl roof they ran it down over the side under the rain spouting.
Anyway a mess I am 73 and have acute Leukemia and other issues from Vietnam so do not plan to buy another new RV.
Want to keep this unit as we love it so wish to get yet another new roof I believe the EPDM roof material is still unavailable.

Sorry for your issues.
Not that it's any consolation but many new R/Vs are coming with PVC (vinyl) roofing. Just because the dealer used that instead of TPO or rubber doesn't mean it won't work.

Have you checked on PVC roof material availability? My neighbor just finished re-roofing with PVC and it appears to be a lot better than EPDM.
I had an EPDM roof and will never have another.

Will call Orvin Tuesday Hmm that name is very familiar I started the Cedar Creek Rv Club back in 2001 long story developed Acute Leukemia in 2016 no one would take over the club so it shut down.
In years past we held would guess at least 4 RV rallies at the Fairground and always had a Cedar Creek Factory Tour and they gave us lunch at the Restaurant close by the factory. I know I remember Orvin name he probably does not remember me anymore.

Well been trying to call no answer and can't even let a message how can one schedule an appointment when you can't talk to anyone at the place. Not sure I want to if you can't talk to anyone not like I can drive 1200 miles to talk in person.

@brucec - This is a very popular week for small companies to shut down for vacation. As noted in a previous post, someone believed Amish Family RV was closed until 7/11.
Try back periodically but be patient. And know that even if you do get a hold of them, expect appointments to be way out in the future.

Well I am deaf hard to hear even with my Hearing aids that work with my cell phone. I did finally realize option 2 was to let Orvin a message and that option did work I left him a message. My mistake life is hard for the deaf. I can here with my hearing aids and a special mic I ware around my neck but usually do not hear my cell wring. And yes I have it set to vibrate also but I had two spinal cord surgeries and my legs are 3/4 numb also.
Anyway as said it was my mistake because I can't hear good one can let Orvin a message.

As jd4010 said - getting an appointment with Orvan can be way out in the future. As busy as he is it could be 6-12 months. When I picked my 5er up from him this past May, I made an appointment for next year. I don't have any specific problem yet but by then you never know. I plan to go back yearly to him. When I was there this past May he was doing a roof on a unit from Canada (BC if I remember right). He had the typical scaffolding all around the 5er to re-roof it.
Side note - Besides my 5er I have a non-FR 2006 TT that the roof structure under the top layer is in pretty sad shape with a lot of weak areas. I looked on line and found a company in Oglethorpe,Georgia called RV Roof Install LLC - https://www.rvroofinstall.com/ that seems to do decent work according to the several youtube videos of their work. Most show from start to finish (in snippets) and the videos can be an hour or longer. I called them for a guestimate but they were higher than I wanted to spend on the TT as I only use it 1-2 times a year for hunting (DW put foot down on not taking 5er ).
Good luck with contacting Orvan.
Be safe -

Thanks well mine is a long story had a new roof installed December 2021 in PA went to Texas when we arrived saw roof issue already like January 8th. Came back to PA company was sold new owner long story. Roof is still leaking this is a BIG mess sure with Orvin could do this within say 3 months I probably going to have to find a roof to out this under till I can get this fixed most likely already have allot of internal water damage.
Hard to locate a roof to park a 36 foot 5th under 13.8 high
Giving me sleepless nights what a mess seems like you can't get anything fixed correctly in an RV anymore.
To old and health to bad to buy a new one now

The owner of the unit Orvan was working on had the same issue with the roof where he had paid good money to have it redone and the roof still leaked after it was all done. That is why they took it to Orvan. I definitely think barring other circumstances, Orvan is an excellent choice to have it done.
Inside storage is hard to find, luckily for us I found inside storage about 18 miles away. Even though I probably didn't have it there for almost 6 months, I still paid for the whole year as I didn't want to lose it.
Good luck and be safe -

Well still no answer one would think if they are closed for sometime their message would state so.
I believe they are the only ones that can fix my roof mess so I will be patient I just need to know if they will fix it and when.
Then I can tell the place that put my existing roof on 7 months ago that is still leaking I am going else where and get my new AC from them that they took off my roof when they closed up my AC roof hole to try and stop the leaking what a mess.
I also can then know how long I will have to store this someplace put of the rain. Just frustrating not getting any kind of call back at all when you need to make plans even long term plans need to be made.
