Aqua View Showermiser Shower Water Saver
Cedar Creek and Hathaway owners!
Anyone installed the Aqua View Showermiser Shower Water Saver?
How do you access the back of the shower? I don't see any way through the hall closet. Can it be done from the shower side?

Moved thread from the Modifications and Updates section to the Cedar Creek sub-forum since the OP is asking for feedback from owners of Cedar Creek products.

Can't answer your question, but I can offer a thought on actual savings verses install headaches. Most RV's showers are very near the HW heater. My last 3 fivers took maybe 4-5 seconds to get hot water to the shower ... catch that in a cup and brush your teeth with it. We use an Oxygenics 26481 shower head that does a good job of getting you wet without much water.

Your (OP's) profile, signature, or post do not show your model #, so people cannot know your unit's floor plan.
I installed my own self designed version of a shower miser in my motorhome. Perhaps, if I knew your layout, I might be able to suggest a course of action.
I found the "shower miser" to be very valuable as the water heater was a long way away from the shower.

Yes it can be done. Pull the fan switch cover and the switch itself to view shower faucet cut out. All work can be don through this opening.

On my Hathaway 34 RL2 I would have to layout the hole to the right of the faucets if I was standing in the shower. Trying to go to the left will run you into the closet.

I tried to send a picture that I took through the fan light switch but I wasn’t sure how to do it. Hope this will let you decide on whether or not to do the upgrade.

A previous message I sent may have been a little misleading, so let me explain. Looking through the fan switch opening will just let you see the back side of your shower faucet cut out and what’s directly behind it. If everything looks ok you would have follow the procedure for marking the drill hole and then remove your shower faucet panel and do all the work through that opening. I would drill the hole put the Aqua View drain line through the hole making sure to properly caulk it. Then install the gasket and locking ring on the inside of the wall and carefully tighten it up. If your shower line connects to the top of your faucet (like mine)I would leave the Aqua View valve so it’s just about 1/4” higher than its final tightened position. Now put a section of drain line in that can reach to where you going to send it back to the fresh water holding tank. Make sure you put the connection onto the end of this line that is going to connect to the Aqua View (inside the wall) before you run the line. Next connect it to the Aqua View. VERY IMPORTANT…..Make sure that you replace the rubber seals in the hot and cold water lines before reconnecting them to the valves otherwise you risk a leak (they are very cheap). Caulk the valve panel and reinstall it. Now gently rotate the Aqua View down the 1/4” and connect it to the valve and connect it to the faucet connection. Reconnect the shower line and then finish by tying in your drain line. This assumes your shower line connects to the top of your rvs faucet and if it comes in on the bottom you will have to adjust a few things.

I believe that both Rockwood and Flagstaff are installing these units right at the factory. My friend has had them in his last two trailers. In the newer trailers they run the return right out through the shower valve panel so they don’t have to drill the shower wall. This makes things much simpler because I’m sure they get the panel premolded with the hole for the Aqua View.

Here’s a picture of the Aqua View that goes through the panel in some new trailers.
