Awning cover maintenance

Any suggestions on what to apply to the black owning and topper covers for both protection and good looks? Have tried wax but I think the finish is not glossy enough and will get dull/chalky quickly

I would try some Turtle wax ICE. I use that on my wife's Jeep black ABS trim. Makes it nice and black with no residue.

How often do you have to apply it?

I guess that would depend on how much sun it gets when it is stored.
I do it once a year on the wife's Jeep, but it parks in the garage when not in use.

I use 303 aerospace protectant twice a year and my topper and awning hard covers look great after 6 years.

It is great stuff for awnings, rubber slide seals, tonneau covers, etc!

What are your guys' preferred method for applying the 303. I know with this product, a little goes a long ways. Do you spray on and wipe off, or do you apply to a cloth then wipe the surface? I know when I use it on my decals, you have to be careful not to use too much because it can cause streaking.

I spray it on sparsely, wipe with a micro fiber towel to spread evenly and buff dry with another micro fiber towel.

X2

Except on the tires and seals, I simply spritz some on and wipe with an old towel just for that purpose.
