Batteries in cedar creek
New cedar Creek 36ckts. My friend just purchased a new cc the dealer installed 2 size 2412v batteries. My question is the sticker in the TV says designed for 4 6v batteries and I think that is what should be installed. What batteries did others receive with theirs? Thanks for any help.

I have 4 six volt batteries, but it is an option that I paid extra for. Standard is 2 twelve volts. The compartment is designed to hold 4 six volts.

If it has the residential fridge that runs off an inverter, it should have the four 6v golf cart batteries.

We got two 6v batteries with ours. It will take four and if the rig comes with a residential fridge they are apparently supplied by the factory. I don't know about other models but the batteries on the 38FL are a PITA to get in or out.

I believe the dealer installs the batteries. Two 12 volts were included with mine and there was a dealer up charge for four 6 volt.

The dealer installs the batteries and its whatever they want to put in. My dealer(Tom Johnson) now Camping World installed my batteries and they were the cheapest they could find and wired wrong.

If you can bully the dealer to install 6 volts batteries without extra costs, go for it. If it is gonna cost more, think about how you are going to use it. If you dry camp for a couple days, you'll need the all the battery you can get. I have 4-12 deep cycle and they will last about 24 hrs on the fridge only. Your mileage may differ. I do little dry camping. The truck supplies the power while on the road and as long as I can find a 15 amp service when I park, I'm golden.

My 36ckts does have the residential fridge and came with 4 6v - they are cheaper 6v batteries (186 amp hr), but came without, the apparently typical, dealer upcharge hog squeeze.

Our CC has the residential refrigerator and came with 4 6 volt batteries at no charge and this was identified and provided by the Hathaway edition.

My Cedar Creek 32RL came with four six volt batteries 105amp and I tested them in March and they would last four days. I'll try to test them this weekend, it's hot now so I don't know how long they will last. I have another bank of four six volt Trojans 225amps in the camper. I have found out if you want to give your batteries a boost when you are pulling the camper turn your head lights on

I have the 4, 6V for the residential refrigerator. Mine were wired wrong as well! Seems like a pretty simple task for anyone supposedly qualified to work on these things.

Can't imagine why turning the headlights on would do anything to boost the batteries ??? Can you explain this ??

My GMC is said to increase alternator output with turning in headlights and/or using Tow/Haul. I haven't metered it.

My 2012 36CKTS has the residential refrigerator and has four 6volt batteries made by Interstate. These are good batteries. Of course the dealer wired them wrong, as well. It must be a dealer requirement to wire them wrong so we can rat on them on forums like this!
The wiring diagram shows four 6 volt batteries and they were provided by the dealer at no additional cost.

I think my dealer thought the electric would just leap the the two batteries that was not hooked up to the converter. Refrigerator quit working and the batteries I checked was hot. I brought two more cables and hooked the batteries up right. The 12 volt side of life is what people should look at. It's worth people's time that have rv's to read
