Bugs on the front cap...

Just thought I would in with the group to see what people use to help keep bugs off the front cap while traveling?
Just in my travel I've heard things like, before heading out spray the front cap down with WD40 or Pan cooking spray!
Thoughts?
Thanks ahead for your replies!

A good wax job and wash the cap ASAP after a buggy trip and the cap will clean up with very little elbow grease.

Not a prevention, but I watched a video a few days ago by a guy who full times, and he uses dryer sheets to remove stuck-on bugs. Says: just enough abrasive to git 'er done, but not so abrasive it scratches the finish.

YMMV

Get the dryer sheets wet and the bugs will wipe right off.

Use dryer sheets on the nose of my truck to remove bugs. Light water on the truck then lightly wipe / buff them buggers away

If u are going to try Pam cooking spray I think it is the original. In Florida a guy was pissed cause they had put on a Pam baking spray or something. It cooked the decay 90% off and warped the front cap. I grill so I don't know about those things. Always waxed and washed them as soon as setting up.

I will try the dryer sheets. Guess u have to do before unhooking or I wouldn't be reach the top.

I always thought the Pam or WD40 idea was a little on the crazy side. Would look like crap to start with. Then, you're having to clean cooking oil off the front of your rig. I'll stick to the wax, or Mary Moppins we use.

I'm convinced that drivers try to swerve away from them while driving the highways. I see no other reason for the fish-tailing I've witnessed.

Never seen that stuff before. I've always used the sea foam fuel additive, but didn't know they made bug stuff too. Might try some.

X2 on not using something like Pam. Blech, can't imagine the dust and road grime that'd collect in something like that.

Magic erasers are great at removing bugs, intact or "otherwise".

Don't believe I would try clay, it's more for fine finishing on clear coat and automotive paint. Would probably wreak havoc on decals & stickers.
