CC 35IK Silverback Tires
What a great summer! Over 8K miles on trailer. Noticed several tire questions but I simply want the best performing tire for my trailer. Equipped now with Westlake ST235-85R16's. Tread still looks good...using TPMS and no issues so far (knock on wood). Anyone have any suggestions?

The Westlake tires are a good tire. I have not heard of any tire failures on Cedar Creek trailers using the Westlake tires. I have used them on my trailer now for four years now without any issues. I will be replacing them with Westlake tires next year as these have aged out being 5 years old next year.

That is terrific information. Thanks. As this trailer is only 2 years old and despite traveling extensively back and forth across the country I am still amazed at the amount of tread left on these tires. One more question...when you do decide to replace do you plan on ordering the tires online or go through a tire store like Discount?

I will probably go through Discount tires since I buy most of my tires there.

Last question as DW is getting anxious about tires...how many miles on your trailer with these tires?

I also have the Westlake 235/85-16 on a 16k lb 5 th wheel and fully expect to get 30,000 miles or better on these tires. They are much more robust than the E rated rubbers and if you balanced plus keep 'em covered, then I suspect you will surprised how long they last.

Thanks everyone for the great response. Decided to go with good old USA Goodyear Unisteels. DW is much more at ease knowing that we'll have great tires on our rig.
Happy Camping!

I would look at the weight rating of those tires that you want to use. They may not be the equivalent weight rating of the Westlake tires that are on your trailer now. You could be under sizing (load carrying ability) the tires and be in more danger of a tire failure. I know my Westlake tires have a load rating of 129 with a speed rating of L in the SRW configuration. What this means is the tires will support a load of 4080 LBS at 110 PSI. The speed rating is 75 MPH.
BTW; I have 22,000 on my tires now and plan on putting another 5 or 6 thousand miles on them before I get new tires next year. Trailer tires will age out before they wear out do to towing miles, unless you are a full timer and are pulling none stop.
Just saying to look at the new tires to make sure. There is nothing wrong with the Westlake tires in this size.

Oneiron - what are your current tires - "E" or "G" rated, and what are the Goodyears you plan on buying rated?? AS was mentioned, don't de-rate just to get Goodyears.
Good Luck
OBTW - I have G rated Westlakes and I hear good things about them from several other Cedar Creek Owners and a "tire guy" that collects data on all kinds of trailer tires.
