CC Return Air Filter Replacement

Has anyone found a source for replacing the foam filter that has a card board border around it? This filter is inside a metal return vent cover for a ducted return air system. Since we have dual air conditioners there are 4 return vents with filters. The card board border appears to keep the filter in place and not allowing it to moving around.

Right or wrong, I've just blown my foam return filters out since I started owning fivers in the late 90's. With the older style A/C's ... you could actually wash them out. They really don't filter much and are just there to keep out the big chunks. The current flavor of Silverbacks have a plastic filter housing in the ceiling with a removable door ... no more removing the screws, just pop off the door and remove the filter media. I went ahead and bought 4 of them thru FR ... they're right at $10 each. Part number 30189256A They fit right in place of your current metal ones.

Thanks for the ideas. I am thinking to find a sheet of thin plastic and cut it out like the card board border. Then purchase AC foam filter cut to size. I was just wondering if these had been on the market and I could just order but knowing the RV industry there is probably no market for these by the supplier.

Do you think Cedar Creek has the same plastic filter housing? I accidentally got to close to the Creek mowing the grass and I have to call the parts people because I knocked off a corner. I live 320 miles from where I brought the camper at and Cedar Creek has been pretty good about me ordering parts from them. It's been awhile since I ordered anything from them, so things may have changed

I response to the question on how to get the return air filter grills with the swing down doors ... I just contacted Sheila McGee at FR parts and warranty and placed the order.
