Cedar creek 34IK wastewater tanks slow to drain
In our former 5th wheel, a Cameo, the black and gray water tanks drained in less than 5 minutes. The 34IK takes about 30 minutes to empty the 3 tanks.
Normal or what?

Hi,
The gray tanks on my 33RL take three times as long as my black, but not that long -- 7-8 minutes depending on how full they are.
Of course when the line behind you at the dump station is lengthy, it seems longer...

This is only the 3rd or 4th time I've had to dump the tanks since we just took delivery on the 17th of April. The black tank when full empties pretty fast until the end and the remnant just dribbles out forever. Bathroom gray tank empties well and also dribbles a good while. The galley tank won't drain at all if there is less than 1/3 showing on the display. Just seems odd to me for the dump to take so long. Lazydays "tech support " says the drains from gray tanks are only 1-1/2" so they drain slow. I don't think they should be as slow as they are. Guess I'll just have to live with it if that's the case.

If you could get a hold of a scope to run up the pipe and take a look, many people out here have found debris in the tanks from the construction of the trailer that restricted the flow out of the waste tanks.

I would also run a snake down the vent pipe from the roof to make sure you have a good clear vent so your not getting a vacuum in the tank.

You might try slightly raising the opposing side of the trailer via driving over blocks or using hydraulics if avaiable

I will first try taking it to my local FR dealer here in Clearwater. Good folks and he may be able to troubleshoot it for me and do anything that needs done under warranty if it is a warranty item.
If that doesn't work I'll buy a boresnake and try to see what's up with it. May just be the nature of the beast. Then I'll try the hike the right leg routine to see if that works.

Thought the same about our 2019 33IK. Seems to drain slow. My thought is that the remote gate valve control is not opening all the way.

Excellent thought Jim! A borescope would verify the correct position of the valve. Definitely need to get it checked though. I don't want to be "that guy" at the dump station!!!

I'm not sure but I think that the undercarriage panel would need to be removed to see the gate valve. I would think that if you could see the valve you would be able to tell if the cable was opening it all the way or not.

I wondered about that. There is an access panel behind the "wet bay" where I can see the cables decending into the tank area. I may be able to contort myself far enough in there to see if the valves are visible and accessible from there. Otherwise, off with the panel (s)!

Did you look into this any further, TCrossan? We are heading out for a few days and was wondering if it will be something I need to look into.

I have not yet dug into the issue. Too many other steaks to grill. I will figure it out once we get back home.

Well, I spent an hour or so filling and flushing my black tank. When it is full of water, I get a real good blast of water for about a minute, then it goes rather slow, then to a trickle for about 5 minutes. Did this 3 times and didn't notice much difference.
Put a wad of TP down and never saw it come through.
The remote handle 'seems' to go full closed and then full open (about 4" of travel). Not wanting to take the under panel off yet. I'm not sure of where the different holding tanks are located so I would rather have a clue so I take off the right panel.
My guess so far:
the gate valve is fully opening.
the black tank is not sitting in a position that solids go toward the outlet.
When I get home (currently at Ft Wilderness) I'll put my camera scope is and see what I can see.

Before you head for home buy from Walmart Commando holding tank cleaner, fill up your black water tank about half way and let everything slosh around on your way. Or drop a packet in the black water tank and let everything sit for 24 hours. I have used it before and seems to do a good job

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. That issue is on the list of items for them to address. I want to hear what they have found and have to say about it. If I'm not happy with their answer I'll get a borescope and look myself.

I'd say NEVER but that's a long tme!!! I won't go there unless I'm out of other choices. They are nice people but I think truth is a banned substance there.
I've had good service from Harberson in Clearwater so I'm going to give them another shot and see how they perform.
