Cedar Creek Build Stds for 2020
While touring the Cedar Creek plant during the FROG Rally, they shared the 2020 standard features and options list for units built after 8/15/2019 (see attached PDF). Quite a few changes from our 2020 34 IK which was just built in May.
Here are a few of changes that we were a little surprised to see:
1. They discontinued the Chottoman. (We love ours)
2. They moved from the iN-command control system to the Lippert system
3. The on-demand water heater is no longer standard. Most were choosing the LP/Elect.
4. They moved from the Furrion kitchen appliances to Insignia (Best Buy). We actually like out appliances a lot.
5. 2 AC's are now std.
6. No more stackable washer/dryer. It is now side by side in the totally redesigned the front closet
7. No more double sinks in the bath. They now have 1 large counter mounted trough sink with 2 faucet sets.
8. The 20 Cu. Ft. residential refer is std. Only option is the 18 Cu. Ft. Gas/Elect. (we love ours btw)
An additional observation....even less differentiation between the 3 Trim levels than before especially between Silverback & Hathaway.
No other comments. Just sharing for what it's worth.

Interesting we will be picking our 2020 34ik up on Friday, anything in pituclar we should focus on when we so our pdi? We did order it with the gas/electric water heater. I did read your post about not being able to operate both the gas and electric from inside.
Thank you

Thanks for the updated information. Interesting the appliance brand changes. Also, they must've finally realized the 'on demands' rarely work as they should in an RV. Wonder why the change from In-Command to Lippert?
We ordered our CC Hathaway 34IK in January this year, expecting a 2019.5. VIN came in as a '2020'. We have the In-Command control and not the Lippert control. We didn't order a chottoman (due to needing room for 2 Australian Shepherds). We also did NOT want the on demand water heater so ordered the 12 gallon gas/electric (which works GREAT!) at no additional cost. Doesn't bother us to have the electric switch outside. Minor detail.
LOVE our 2 way, Norcold, 18 cu ft fridge. Wouldn't be without propane capability for the fridge in any RV. Had to use the propane recently at a campground due to 'overnight maintenance' by the local power company.
Our oven/range top is Furrion, the microwave is Insignia, the dishwasher is Fisher Paykel and the fridge is Norcold. Amazingly they all match despite being 4 different brands. Glad we have the double sinks in the bath and the stackable capability for the washer/drier. (Don't have washer/drier yet)
Sounds like we got a nice mix of 2019 AND 2020. Glad we ordered ours when we did. Be interested in doing a walk through of a new 34IK later on this winter just to see the changes.

Found Some Photos
Looking around online and found a couple photos of the changes in the 34IK.
We are VERY happy with the design we got.
Our early 2020 34IK Kitchen & bath photos show Furrion range top and oven with smooth backsplash and a lighter themed, dual sink bath mirror and vanity.
NEW 2020 show Insignia range (looks like a slide in residential) and a darker themed bath with one centered, raised sink with two faucets.
Will let you make your own decisions on like/dislike.

We almost pulled the trigger on a 2019 38EL and now I'm glad we didn't. Love the new colors and especially the new stove. Will have to see on in person first though.

That’s a big negative on the new single sink design.

Hope you like your Furrion oven better than we like ours. Total PITA to light and temp is off a good 50* from the knob verified with an external temperature probe. Makes baking a total challenge. The fan and light runs constantly even when in pilot light mode (make no sense to me).
Ours is at the dealership right now getting a bunch of punch list items corrected under warranty. Our Furrion oven is on the list and I described it to them as "worst oven ever!". Would love it if they replaced it with a reliable Magic Chef.

Not according to my Wife. She would not even look or buy a RV with the double sink in the bathroom! She wants the counter space for all of her make-up and hair products when she is in the bathroom. With the double sink there is less room according to her!

x2
We have plenty of space with double sink. Was one of the 'selling features' of interior design for us. Plenty of drawer space for the hair products, etc.

After looking at this sink design at the PA show, it appears to have less counter room than the old double sinks had. The new one is a long raised basin (as the picture shows). Therefore, you loose the space that used to be between the double sinks.

I bet when it’s all said and done you have the same counter space. What is lost between the sinks is gained back to the left and right of the center mounted sink. At least that’s what it looks like in the pics above. Still not sure it would be a deal breaker or deal maker. I guess it is something you would need to see for yourself.

Truth be told, I really think it’s quite ugly.
