We had the Micro/Convection unit installed when we ordered our Cedar Creek, and it did not vent outside. We used it that way for about one and a half years, then I added a vent. All I did was reverse the squirel cage, around to blow out instead of in, very quick and easy fix. The unit had to be removed to install the vent, the back of the Mirco/Convection has two holes in it (up to vent inside and to the wall to vent outside). If yours has not been changed yet, a vent could be added, easily. If it has and you are handy, the unit is easy to remove to add the vent. If you do not do the work yourself, I would only have the vent installed by a service department that I really trusted.
Hope this helps God bless,
Mike
