Converting new 5er to 17.5 Wheels

I am purchasing a new Silverback 37FLK from Jeff Couch RV on the 26th. Before a hit the road for the 2500 plus trip back to Seattle I would like to convert to 17.5 rims and GY G114 tires. I have found them at Trailertiresandwheels in Ohio. I haven't been able to reach them yet, they may know the answers but in the meantime I thought I would ask here. My question is, does anyone know the bolt pattern and size, and does it have offset rims? Also 1/2 or 9/16 lugs?

Or does anyone know where I can find this info?

Thanks

They won’t know the answer to those questions. Contact Cedar Creek and they’ll either answer it for you or you’ll need to contact the tire OEM. In my Sabre’s case, it was Lionshead Tire in Elkhart. They were very helpful in getting me the info I needed to make the switch.

Personally, I’m 17.5” size- you don’t need to stick with Goodyear tires. The Sailun is a great tire and I actually opted for the Continental HTL ECO tire.

TrailerTiresAndWheels.com treated me good. They had the setup I needed and fast shipping/delivery to Elkhart.

Have you figured out what you’re doing with your old rims + tires? That was a harder problem to solve quickly than I anticipated. I ultimately got not much money from a RV surplus place in the Elkhart area.

When I next NEED tires, I'm going to do the same thing. I got a quote from the same place that did my disc brakes.......they also sell tires........Performance Braking. Around $575 for new wheel and tire. They are plug and play.

I know I can save money by buying Sailuns. But for that huge pile of cash, I'm going to get Goodyears. However, I DO know of several folks who have done this and stayed with Westlake tires...........no one seems to be having any issues with the Westlakes at all.

I don't know where to tell you to get them.......but my local tire guy, that I deal with, can get almost anything. There's a bunch of independent tire stores in Hamilton. Call one of them.

I got my trailer there too. Brandon was our outstanding sales guy. I doubt I'd buy anywhere else.

Trailertireandwheels charged me 2165.00 for new aluminum wheels, Goodyear G114 mounted, balances and shipped to Jeff Couch RV

Do you know how tall you are with the 16s? I suspect that I am 13' 7" with my 17.5s. CC says I am 13' 6" but they said that the previous year when they used 16s. I hope they changed the suspension to compensate for the difference in height between the tires.

Hundreds if not thousands of people run Goodyear G614's or Saliuns and stick with the 16" rims. Why spend the money on larger rims?? Less sidewall means rougher ride.

Changing from 16" to 17.5" Tires

I'm planning on changing my rims and tires next year. Tires age will be close to 5 year point.
Reason for up sizing - Load capacity increase approximately 800 lb increase per tire.

No load issues for us. We will stay with factory engineered size tires.

Your tire load capacity won't mean anything if your axle ratings are less. I have the 17.5s with 8000# axles. I suspect you have 7000# or less axles.

That's correct. 7000# axles. Not looking to increase carrying capacity. Only looking for a wider safety factor between the G and H rated tires.
