Did your Cedar Creek come with these 2 items?

I recently purchased a 2016 36KTS. I am inquiring of others who purchased this unit if it contained storm windows for front door and clips for residential refrigerator to prevent door opening during travel?

I guess I don't know what storm windows for the door are, but I don't think I have them.

As for the Fridge.........no. We only got some small strap, but the first trip with $200 worth of food, the strap was not Tarzan Tight, and it came open slightly, food ruined. Since then, I get a real ratchet strap, ratchet the two Refrig doors shut where they can NOT move, then put the strap around those two doors AND the freezer door on bottom and Tarzan Tighten that one too. That's worked so far, but a sure pain. Sure wish there was a built in metal type, HD slide bar, to hold the 3 doors totally shut.

We have the Storm windows for the screen door. (The windows are clear Plexiglas and are held in place by four screen retainers. For those that do not know.)
With the 19 Cu FT refrigerator this came with a screw in star wheel that retains both upper and lower doors closed when traveling. This has worked will and the doors remain closed with no issues such as opening on the road.

The screw holding my refrigerator doors shut during travel I cross threaded the screw and I put a strap on the doors, works better. I'll put a strap on the microwave, the door does open some during travel

I was whining about my fridge doors coming open the other day and grouchmore came up with a solution I am going to try this weekend. I bought the scotch fastener strip (see attached pic) at home depot for about $10. It is like hd velcro and has an adhesive on one side. I am going to stick a small piece on the top of the fridge, a small piece on top of each top door and and use about a 6" piece on each door to hold the top shut and use the factory strap to hold the freezer shut. As long as the adhesive sticks, should solve the open fridge doors

Where do you store your storm windows when you take them off?

It is not really a storm window. It is just a framed piece of eisenglass that covers the bottom half of the screen door. You take it off if you want to open the entire screen door area to allow extra airflow. It is maybe 3'x2'. Very light and can be stored anywhere.

I don't find it to be very useful but it is a bell and whistle that CC touts...

Yes I know what they are I have 2 of them on my door. I just want to know where they get stored so they don't get damaged.

I suggest under the couch or bed.

Sorry, I thought you did not know what they were since you were asking a question that suggested you thought it was a storm DOOR. I thought if you knew what they were you would not be asking where to store them?

I should have looked at your signature.. My bad..

I used to store mine in the front closet, 5 years and not a problem there I just made sure they could not bounce around and hit something that could puncture them.

I store mine it the front closet wrapped in a piece of light weight shipping foam liner. These are stored upright and against the outside wall, where the washer and dryer would be placed on a 34RL. These have traveled will in this area and have had not been damage as of yet.

You can store them anywhere they won't get exposed to any abrasive, extreme heat, chemicals, sand blasting or radiation.

I got the storm windows but they were cheap, thin, plastic which was scratched and unacceptable. My dealer replaced them with heavier, acrylic plexiglass. There is a device to lock the 2-door fridge.

The first time we went on a trip in our new rv the refrigerator door flew open while driving down the road. It was our first time to have a residential fridge and we didn't know about the screw handle to hold it down. Forest River had to give us a new fridge door because it was damaged when it flew open and slammed into the bathroom door handle (which also broke). We then have checked everywhere for a solution to this problem because the screw handle is a poor solution.

We have since discovered the perfect fix! We found a baby latch designed for appliances. It comes in black/silver or white. It works perfectly. Found it at Wal Mart in the baby department. I am trying to post pictures.
