Do I Believe the Label or Common Sense?
We have a new 2021 Cedar Creek Cottage 40CRS. Last weekend was our first time to empty the waste tanks. Our trailer comes with two grey tanks and one waste (black) tank.
When looking at the labels from the hitch to the rear it has one labeled "galley tank" next to "black tank." But the tank labeled galley is where the bathroom is located. Towards the rear of the trailer the tank label says "bath tank" but that's where the kitchen is.
So should I assume those two labels are wrong? Would it make sense to have the tanks in opposite directions?

Neither, test it out!
First, empty all of your tanks + close all of the dump valves. Make sure you have a clear elbow on your sewer connection so you can see when water is flowing.
Then: - Go to a single water fixture or toilet
- Run water for 30-60 seconds
- Go outside and pull each handle one-by-one until you see water flow
- Let it empty and close the valve
- Write down the water fixture + tank handle
- Repeat at the next water fixture
My wife and I did it pretty quickly- 4 tanks and a whole bunch of water fixtures. We found a surprise that in our Spartan toy hauler, the washer/dryer was plumbed to a black tank.

don't assume anything! not the labels and not the common sense. as stated above go test each faucet to see where it drains. i note that you have a place for washer / dryer prep. our trailer came with this also. it turns out the washer drained into a completely separate waste tank that was not connected to any other drain. don't know if you have this or not. go test them.

Three water, water heater bypass, and winterizations valves on my (not Forest River) Class A were mislabeled. I discovered it after pumping 2 gallons of antifreeze onto the ground. Can't trust 'em.

There is an easier way, if you can believe that the designers and installers are normal people. Just look at the waste valve piping. Gray water will be 1 1/2" pipe, and black waste will be 3" pipe. Then. label accordingly.

Drain valves being mislabeled is quite common.

FR took the easy way out on our 2015 TT (which has one black and two grey tanks) and didn't label any of them. Guaranteed to not get it wrong using that method...
You had to get down on your hands and knees and stick your head under the TT to even find the T handles. Cheap and effective solution was to put small pieces of grey duct tape at the bottom of the sidewall where the grey handles are, and a small piece of black duct tape where the black handle is. Now I can find them without having to use both hands...

I only have two tanks. It did not take me long to figure out that the gray pull handle was for the black tank and the black pull handles was for the gray tank!!
Hoooooowee!

Got tired of wallering around under our XLR to reach the handles and installed electric valves. who designed a system that you have to crawl under a trailer at a dump station to reach handles? YUK! I labeled the valves at the switch and now I know what I am dumping.

Several years ago in another forum I participated in, another poster pointed out workers building RVs got a kick out of mislabeling the black and gray valves discharge pipes. Can't imagine that happening today, can you?
