Electric Fireplace smell

My 2019 Cedar Creeks electric fireplace smells like something is burning when the heat is on. I took it apart and dont see anything obvious. Has anyone else had issues with theirs ? It's bad enough that after you turn it off the trailer smells like smoke.

How much have you used it?
Many electric heaters (and R/V furnaces for that matter) stink and smoke for a bit when first using them. Run it a half hour and see how it fares.

I'd say if the smell, if it smells like dust and oils burning off, doesn't go away after the 1st initial use then you may have a problem and have to take it to the dealership for inspection, an electrical fire is no laughing matter.

X2 on dust and oil from manufacturing burning off. Be aware that your propane furnace will do the same thing the first time you use it. The dealer should have recommended you run each for about 30 minutes on a warm day with windows and door open before you need them to keep warm.

Opened my windows, ran my fans and ran the fireplace about two hours.

Love it now, but took time to clear the smell.

Similar experience with the furnace.

Thanks everyone, we have ran it in the past for short periods. This time it was on for a couple hours when it started to stink.

If it didn't do it before but does now, either something crawled in there and died (you wouldn't be the first) or something has dropped into the unit.

You may have to completely remove the unit and disassemble to find out what's going on.

I wouldn't use it until you do so or take it back to the dealer. A 2019 should be under warranty unless there's a dead animal in it.
