Extended Warranty Advice
We are about to complete the purchase of a new 36CK2. We live in SC and buying a unit in AL. Our biggest concern will be service and/or warranty work. What advice do you have about extended warranties? Is purchasing the second year factory warranty a no brained? Is there any extended warranties we should look at getting? Is this something I should get but try and purchase after I have my fifth wheel and maybe purchase from a local dealer?

Buy the second year warranty from Forest River and forget the extended warranty from the dealer. You probably won't see him again. The second year warranty from Forest River is the best $250 bucks you can spend.

Ditto on BamaBob's advice. Get all issues fixed before 2nd yr is up. Do your normal inspections and lube/caulking/tires, etc and enjoy. Make yourself a bad day reserve $$ for the unexpected and ENJOY!

Extended Warranty Advice
I agree with the second year. Also I have the warranty with goodsam and have been very pleased. I have had warranty from goodsam for the past 3 5th wheels back to 2000 and they have been very good covering items.

extended warranty price
I was wondering where Mbrames found a warranty for $370. My dealer wants $900 for six years and Good Sam is about $845. Can you give more info.

ext.warranty info
Thanks for the link. I may have to check into this. The price is god but doesn't provide as much coverage on trip interruption and towing as some of the other plans. I guess though just getting the trailer components covered is more important.

I'd purchase the FR warranty for $200. Then register all the other products in your RV individually and you end up with other warranty options. A warranty on the furnace through Suburban for like $40 and a warranty through Dometic for the AC for $150. They're big ticket items that having them covered gives piece of mind without a big up front cost. The next 2 most expensive items on the unit are the Hot Water Heater and Refrigerator which I didn't get offers for.

I have warranty from Camping World that's not worth the paper it's written on. The second year warranty from Forest River is the best, if it's going to go bad it will happen before two years is up

I assume every person buying a contract knows the company behind the contract; their cash position to pay for repairs for the length of contract; loss records, etc, etc...that is WHY buyers gravitate to major agreements like through the manufacturer or Camping World. If premiums do not exceed losses, over time, they go away. Just say'n; there are risks besides finding someone to repair your unit.

Hi,
I'm new to RV'ing and we just purchased our first TT. I've been reading as much as possible on this forum to gain additional information.
I'm curious about the 2nd year warranty from Forest River. How to you get this warranty and what does it include? Our dealer tried to sell us a 5 year warranty for $1474. but didn't mention another year of warranty for $250.
Thanks in advance for the information.

What did you buy for your first TT? NOT all Forest River TT's are covered.
Edit: I see you bought a Rockwood. $150 for second year. Download the form and send it with a check.
See link.
