Fireplace periodically doesn't fire

I have a Tec Flame fireplace in my Cedar Creek. Periodically the heater doesn't work. The led lights for the flame and effects are still working, but no heat or fan. The led lights for temperature flash. Turning unit off and on by switch on unit does not work. Although the 20 amp circuit breaker says not tripped, if I turn it off, then on, the unit works. Another week later, the same thing. Anyone have suggestions for cause and correction?

Scheinin, My 2017 36 CKTS had the same issue. I removed the fireplace from the cabinet and sat it on the floor and it works fine. When I slide it back in place it will run for a few minutes then error out like you said. On the top of the fireplace where the louvers are toward the left side as you are looking at the fireplace I found a round sensor which I thought might be an air flow sensor. When the fireplace is in place there is a minimum of space between the top of the fireplace and the wood above it ( less than 1/4 "). I cut a 2" wide by 6" long hole in the wood (paneling) above where the sensor is located. This hole is in the paneling that is on the bottom side of the Jensen entertainment center. It has worked all winter with no problems. So I think that the sensor is not getting enough air flow and it shuts the heat element off and errors out. I will try to get and post pictures tomorrow, of my fix.

Dumb question, is the temp setting set high enough?

I had the same issue last week and realized the temp setting on the fireplace was set at 65 and it was 70 in the room so it would not turn on... Until I raised the setpoint.

I keep the temperature setting at 99 or 86 when on. However, when it malfunctions, you can't adjust the temperature, as the led lights that show the temperature area flashing.

I didn't recognize you from your picture and your screen name. But I remember Keith and Drena.

I had the same problem with the fireplace in our 2005 Cardinal and finally it quit altogether. I found that the wire supplying power to the heating element had melted. I soldered in a replacement upping the gauge of the wire.

Steve here are the pictures. There are 4 screws that hold the fireplace in. Remove them and pull the fireplace out. When looking at the top you should see the sensor. Measure to see where you need to cut the hole i remember now that I cut a bigger hole than needed. 3" x 12". Be sure to watch the wiring from the audio system.

Thank you. When we get to our next campground I will remove the fireplace.
Will you be at the Passport America Rally on 2/20 at Ft. Walton Beach?
