frame issues

Have a 2012 34rlsa we are the second owner. On the drivers side I am having flexing and stress cracks where the wall turns down toward the jack Cedar Creek has denied fixing it.

To me a frame is a serious problem and shouldn't crack in less than ten thousand miles.

It is a major issue and is unfortunately common. Lippert has measurements for how much flex is normal. There are measurements that you can do before and after hooking up to your truck.

It's common for welds to break in the pinbox area of the camper. You'll need someone to pull down the skin and inspect the welds properly. Then have the bad welds fixed and reinforcements added.

Being a second owner, you likely won't get support from Lippert or Cedar Creek. Sucks, but it's just the way it is. No one can say it wasn't overloaded or negligently used. Insurance also won't help because you can't point to a specific road incident that caused it.

The upside is it feels worse than it is. It's fixable and shouldn't be too terrifically expensive. Just go directly to a welder, don't involve a RV dealer/shop.

It was probably overloaded by the original owner at some point and if it was being towed with a ridged hitch/pinbox setup a cracked frame may easily result. If any part of the RV has to be disassembled to get to the frame members to be corrected then I would take it to Amish Family RV in Topeka IN. A trailer welder can certainly fix the crack and reinforce but may know nothing about how to disassemble and reassemble the RV properly.
