Help fixing vent lid

Ok so I found another low branch and managed to break a vent lid and ac shroud.
Right now my biggest concern is replacing the vent lid. I can't figure out how it gets replaced as the lever doesn't seem able to connect to the new lid.Click image for larger version

So is the little white plastic piece on the arm part of the other lid or does that slide in to the new lid. I guess I assumed it part of the old lid until I started examining the pics better

The off white wheel needs to fit into the bracket on the lid.

There are a couple different styles of lids, verify you have the correct one.
