hot water heater

i have a 2019 cedar creek hathoway dealer says hot water seal is cracked needs replaced for $1,000 . (my mistake it got cold before i made it to close) Is this something i can replace cheaper myself

Is that the price installed? I would shop around and buy it yourself and swap it they are not that hard to do, Probably even a YouTube video on how to do it.

I would ask what a hot water seal is and where is it located. It sounds a bit suspicious to me at that cost. Did you have a water leak and where was it coming from?

So are you saying you left water in your system and it suffered a deep freeze causing it to crack something?
Like another posted......what is a hot water seal?

Yes I guess it occurred from
a freeze with water left in it. It is currently since march stuck at the dealers (since our state is in lock down) As soon as their gate opens I want to pull it out ,all my paperwork is in it I'd like to get a jump on ordering the heater any suggestions on best brands
