Hot water setting

Hi all,

I have a 2011 Silverback 29re that I just bought.

In my old travel trailer, Jayco Eagle I was able to select wether I wanted to run my hot water on electric of gas or both.

On this new Silverback I cannot tell if my hot water tank is on gas or electric as it is not written in the manual. If the switch is in the up is it on electric or gas?

Thanks for all your help!
Dan

Hi Dan, if you have a Suburban water heater you may have a switch inside for the DSI/Propane power and another switch that is accessed from outside of the camper for the electric heating element (if equipped).

This may help explain it better:

Some RV's will have two switches (one for the DSI and another for the electric heating element) inside the RV.......but if you only have one (it's for the propane/DSI), then most likely your electric heating element switch will be on the front of the water heater, as explained in the link above.
