Insurance questions

Ok who is everyone using for there insurance ? We have had Good Sam (National General) for a while now and beginning to wonder about them . Seems like they are have gotten as bad as Good Sam (Camping World) , we took our 5vr out of storage in April 2015 and as we know we probably owe a little . Well I just got an email that said my coverage we expire if not paid by 7/2/15 . I called and said that we never have received anything about what we owed and that the DW will not pay anything with out having an invoice . The guy said we will not receive it in time to pay and that was on the 7/22 . Well guess what we received it today along with what should of been mailed out back in April for a different price , Haha , so I called them on it and said there billing department is all ass backwards and how can they charge me a $5.00 late fee when we never got anything saying we owed anything . They said it was our responsibility to pay what was owed . LMAO I told her I wasn't saying I wasn't paying but would of been nice to know what we owed them. As most have seen how Good Sam , Camping World has gone down in caring about customer service sense who know who took over , who is everyone else using for insurance to cover there RV . Would like a company that knows all about RV's and not a company that covers your home and auto .

I use Progressive. Good Sam called the other day and wouldn't take NO for an answer. So I hung up on her. Love that little hang up button.

Had GS/Nat Gen for several years, with no claims. Got renewal this month and rate went up $80 bucks, from $568 ti $648. Called them and was told it was an across the board increase and they could not/would not do anything.
Contacted Progressive, and even when I upped the coverage in certain areas, got a quote of only $470.
Progressive will now start the day the Nat Gen expires, in 2 weeks.

I have AAA for years but their billing sux. I was going to drop them due to a unjustified rate increase. So I was going to pay them quarterly instead of yearly but said I could only pay every 4 months. Paid them $900 and thought I was good till April. The end of February I get a call from my agent saying I was past due. Now they say I need to pay monthly and I had no clue because there were no bills sent. I did find out they had the wrong address. I was in a dispute with a rate increase and won. Now my agent calls to tell the adjusted amount due for the monthly payment and I pay it by credit card while on the road. I get home a month later to get a check for $500 from AAA and a cancelation notice because I didn't pay the $400 adjusted payment last month. Agent: OPPS they lost my CC payment. Why do I stay? Because they're $600/yr cheaper than Good Sams.

State Farm. Not the cheapest, but no BS on claims.

Another with State Farm. Have never had a problem with them and have been with them for many years. Reasonable rates here in Ohio, it may be different elsewhere though.

Insurance questions

Got a quote from Good Sam which was too high and I went elsewhere. Since then I have received about two stuffed envelopes a week with various offers for every kind of insurance, road hazard, towing, discount not card etc. they must spend all that extra money they charge to pay the postage.

Nationwide, along with Home and Auto policies. They have been extremely responsive on claims. Not the cheapest, but I don't buy insurance to be cheap - I buy it to cover the things I don't want to handle on my own.

I used to have Foremost. GEICO made me an offer I couldn't refuse. My three cars and the MH for what I was paying for just the cars alone through Ensurance. Made MH free! That was about 4 years ago. Thing about insurance is that nowadays you have to shop it after ever 2-3 years to keep them honest (competitive). Kind of like magazine renewals, the existing customers pay the premium prices and new customers get discounts.

From looking at forums, a few have had the switch and bait. In other words, low for a couple of years to get you in and then big increases. It is almost like one has keep switching in order to keep rates down. I have State Farm for about 8 years and no bait and switch used. Also from various forms is that Camping World has really gone down hill with their customer service. They just spend a lot of money sending out literature.

Shelter. My home and vehicles are with State Farm. A few years ago I developed some rental property. SF wasn't interested. I had never heard of Shellter until hurricane Rita back in 2005. A buddy was with Shelter and they took really good care of him. So I called them up on the rentals. Their cost was in line, so I had them write policies on two rentals. When I bought my Silverback 29RE last week, they wrote that as well.
So far so good

I have one broker that covers all my insurance needs--house, car, truck & 5er......Truck and 5er are both covered under the same insurance company......If I ever have a claim there will not be any hassle between two insurance companies to determine who covers what!!!!1

Different type of question. How are you basing the amount of insurance you have, on the price you paid for the unit or on the manufacturer retail price? My agent advised me to go with the retail price, its $75 more a year but he said if it was totaled they would then pay for me to go get a new one even if is up to retail. I have progressive.
