Lighting up marker lights at night

I asking if there is a way to light up the camper marker lights at night, using the camper plug adapter. Is there something you can buy to make this happen. I would like to do this for the evening Hours if possible.

I use a 10 amp fuse in the top two positions of the plug.

I have also heard that this method works. I have also talked with a camper who used this: https://www.amazon.com/Camper-LITESW.../dp/B075JP5C8C

That is a pretty cool gizmo that I haven't seen before!
Don't know that I would pay $30 for it, but it would ensure you don't put the fuse in the wrong slots. I've never had a problem when fumbling around in the dark trying to insert the fuse, but I always wonder what if........

You can add a little wrinkle to this idea - buy a two prong flasher from an auto parts store with the two prongs adjacent to each other. Plug it in across the top two connector points of your trailer 7 contact receptacle and you will have flashing running lights.

Yeah but “Disco is dead”.
I heard it on the internet so you know it’s true.

I had an extra 7-way connector laying around so I installed it on the propane cover box. That way when parked I plugged the TH pigtail in to get it off the ground and out of the weather. Wired a switch inline between pins 3&4 and could turn the lights on or off as needed.

Interesting idea, but why would anyone want to light up the marker lights when the trailer is disconnected from the tow vehicle. Is it a safety thing at night in order to see the trailer more easily when returning to it? Wouldn't a flashlight or headlights work? Also, we have an LED porch light on our TT. Just curious.

That only works if you read it on the internet.

I seem to remember seeing a picture of someone using a 15A fuse to connect two pins in the 7-way (based on your post, one would assume 3 & 4), turning on all the running lights.

My google-fu is weak today, I cannot find it.

Thanks. I scanned the thread looking for a picture. I didn’t consider the possibility that someone posted a link.

Just want to light them at night, when the grandkids come over. It will really look nice with the cap lights lit the marker lights and the 4 tail lights I have on the back end.

Putting Christmas rope lights on the ground around the camp site always looks pretty cool at night.

Emergency Kit

I took about an 8-inch piece of pool-noodle and stuck it up inside my 5th wheel pinbox. Jammed into foam of the pool-noodle I carry a 15amp flat flasher fuse. When the fuse is stuck into the 7-way tow cable's top 2 slots.

An easy way to know which pins to use is to point the cable's alignment stub up at the 12 o'clock position and the pins you want are the two below to the left at 11am and to the right at 1pm, doesn't matter which way you stick in the fuse.

Should I ever have an emergency on the road and it's either dark then or it gets dark while waiting on roadside assistance, I can plug in the 15amp fuse and my marker lights will flash just like your tow vehicle truck's emergency flashers.

One small note: The first flasher fuse I bought didn't flash so be sure to test yours before you tuck it away ;-)

We have 6 "Scare" lights under our camper. Round puck lights wired to a new circuit in our load center. Controlled by a wall switch just to the right of our stereo in the rear of the camper.

Where we live there are wild pigs, coons, possums and other "critters" that would otherwise get under the camper at night and cause mischief.
The constant lights keep them away.

The previous owners installed them using halogen lights and used an extension cord to the pedestal to turn them on and off. First I added a circuit and the light switch to make them more user friendly. When one burned out I replaced them all with LED lights, brighter, less electrical draw and longer lasting.

Ive had some on here scoff at the "scare" lights but they don't life here so they are clueless.

The running lights seem a cool idea, particularly since Ive got all of them and the tail lights as LEDs too, so they won't be constantly burning bulbs.

That is an idea for those of you who do this, replaced burned bulbs with LED lights, less hassel..........which means Im IN!!
