I think I read somewhere that a st tire, special propose tire, was designed to run 65 mph and should stay around 63, LT tires are designed to run much faster. Just something to think about. I saw something on the web today that big trucks were going to fast for the tires they were riding on, there's were only supposed to run at 65 mph, I think someone forgot to tell them. My TST TPMS will let me know when the temperature inside the tire starts to rise, I try to stay around 64 and I get passed a lot and by a lot of campers too

LTs are all fine & dandy but no reputable dealer in my area will sell them or install them on a trailer.

It's my understanding rims for trailers specify ST tires only. I could be wrong but I think that's why the g614's are so expensive because they are built differently compared to LT tires. Trailer tires need to
Be able to handle high psi ratings and the sidewalls to resist the twisting from turning unlike LT tires which don't face the same twisting from the tandom axels. I am no expert on tires but that's my limited understanding.

It was stamped on my 30RL how much pressure the rims would take, so from what I understand when you go to LT tires you have to change rims too

I don't think there is a liability problem if you change the rims when you change the tire and yet you yyo

Messed up a little there, if you change the rims when you put on the LT tires there is no liability problem otherwise how did I get the Goodyears on my camper from the factory. I think the st tires are good tires if made right, for me I will not buy tires made in china. I sometimes drive over 70, maybe 75 and the st tires are only made for 65 or less

You must be looking someplace I am not looking because what I see is the G614 are speed rated at r which is 106 mph but you have to have a special rim for these tires. Rims that can take the high pressure and high pressure vale stems. They will not work on st rims, my st rims said 80 lbs max. There is a warning on the tires about this plus it says not to mount on 16.5 inch rims. But Walmart sells this tire, they are not cheap tires but I know that if I want to run a little fast then I can, with the st tire I am taking a chance.

Well I ended up buying a new set of Goodyear marathons. The only thing is I switched from 235/85/16 to 235 /80 15.
After I get them installed I'm ready

So you went with both tires and wheels, alloy wheels with metal valve stems?

You are planning on using the stock wheels with the new tires you got?
Unless there is a typo you have 16 inch now and you bought 15 inch tires.
15 inch tires on 16 inch wheels will not work out well.

Another typo ? or ???
LT235/80R16 have a lower load capacity than LT235/85R16 unless you go up in Load Range such as LR-D to LR-E
COuld you please clarify by providing the complete size info of before & after?
Note by "Complete": I mean letter prefix + numeric dimensions + Load Range
Just too many variations possible for this information to be of help to others if we have to guess.
Thanks in advance
